Children’s Day Short-Story Competition

Calling all Young Story-Tellers!

We are excited to announce the Children’s Day Short-Story Competition, celebrating the theme of unity through kindness! The competition is open to all students across Australia. This is your chance to showcase your creativity. Write a unique story that takes us through a journey brimming with compassion and the true power of kindness. The four most inspiring tales will be rewarded with a $50 Gift Card from The Kids Gift Card- The Card Network, and exclusive certificates from Jordan & Brooke.

Kindness Collective

Imagine a garden where different flowers, each unique in color and fragrance, learn to share sunlight and water, helping one another grow and thrive. Just as these flowers flourish through mutual support, kindness in humanity can bring about a world where everyone blossoms. Write a short story that explores what it would be like if the world were united by kindness, where people, like flowers, nurture and uplift one another, leading to a harmonious and flourishing global community.

Eligibility Criteria and Competition Rules

Age categories: 7-9, 10-12, 13-15, 16-18 ONLY.
To enter into the competition you need to pay an entrance fee of $8 if you are an independent student.
If you're part of a group representing your school at the competition and are being sponsored by them, your individual entrance fee is only $5. (Make sure to submit a letter of verification that you are part of a group representing your school at the competition in the registration form)
Ensure to make your payment after registration to be officially registered.
Maximum word limit for all age categories: 450 Words.
All short-stories must be HAND-WRITTEN!
Submission deadline is the 22nd of October 2024 and winners will be announced on the 23rd of October 2024!

Celebrating Young Storytellers: Stars of the Children’s Day Short-Story Competition 2024

We’re excited to officially announce the winners of the Children’s Day Short-Story Competition, a platform for young writers across Australia to showcase their creativity. Hosted by Jordan & Brooke, the competition centered around ‘Unity Through Kindness’, and we were truly inspired by the remarkable stories we received.

Children’s Day 2023- Essay Competition

The Children’s Day Essay Competition inspired and encouraged creativity in our students. We had many participants within the age categories of 6-9 years,10-12 years,13-15 years,16-18 years and the winners won exclusive 100$ gift vouchers from The Kids Gift Card – The Card Network and exclusive certificates from Melbourne Learning Studio.
